Nickname;

Claim;
Becca Louise
Diagnosis;
Bipolar Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Night Terrors
Personality;
When she is on her medication Becca is really easy to get along with, though is prone to severe mood swings when off of it. She is a good kid and rarely misses a dose of her mood stabilizers so she hasn’t had a full-blown spell of either mania or depression in a few years. She is really different from the way most people perceive her. She may dress like she just spent the night dancing in a graveyard, but she is really a friendly, happy, perky, and fun person to be around. Though when off her medication Becca becomes withdrawn and quiet. She'll often slip into crying and bouts of total isolation. She is a completely different person off her meds. She is prone to anxiety attacks and depression when she doesn't take her meds and often attempts suicide. She still self injures.
She has an almost child-like enthusiasm about life, spending every day living like it’s her last. She is a little ray of sunshine to all those around her, and is regularly kept hyper by her excessive caffeine habit. She loves to make new friends and is very loyal to those she is friends with. She is naïve to the point of being stupid sometimes, believing in giving people chance after chance even when they kick her down every time. She is also a hopeless romantic, dreaming constantly of love.
She is an animal fanatic and refuses to tolerate animal abusers and has gotten physical several times with people who she’s seen hurt animals or children. She supports peace over violence but isn’t above blowing up if you do something that really upsets her. She is also going on six years being a vegetarian and cites it as one of her best decisions ever. A creative soul, she is rarely seen without a notebook and a pencil stuck behind her ear. She loves to write and draw and can be found usually doing one of the two.She likes to help and becomes anxious when things are out of her control. She doesn’t like seeing people hurt and has a bit of a ‘mother hen’ complex. She is also very protective of people she loves.
History;
Becca Abigail Faythe was the first child of Derrick and Sarah Faythe, adopted when she was three months old. Derrick was a pastor at the local Methodist church and her mother was a Sunday school teacher and local art teacher. The two knew well what they were getting into adopting a child whose previous home life included extensive drug use before, during, and after pregnancy with poor prenatal care and lack of nutrition. Indeed when they got poor Becca she was under weight, suffered from bad lungs, and was confined to a heart monitor due to her heart having stopped three times. The two were told they would be unable to have children and thought it was God's will for them to adopt the tiny infant. Though shortly after they were able to have Breanna, Becca's sister who is younger by three years.
Growing up Becca seemed an entirely normal child..well that is what Sarah would tell you anyway. Since she had never had any other children she failed to notice Becca's early obsession with vampires, bats, spiders, and graveyards. She saw it as her little one being wise beyond her years. Which, in a sense, wasn't entirely untrue. Becca is functioning at a high intelligence level and always has. Becca had a habit of having to hug everyone she came in contact with though that was quickly shamed off by the other adults. She began walking, talking, and reading early, too. By the time she was four she was functioning on a first grade reading level which soon blossomed into her obsession with reading. As a child Becca was prone to bouts of moodiness that the doctors shrugged off as late-set 'terrible twos'. Neither of her parents saw it as the early warning signs of Bipolar. These became even more prominent after the deaths of her Nana when she was four, her cousin when she was seven, and her uncle at eight.
By the time Becca hit first grade she was known by every staff member of the local library and loved for her cheeky, bubbly personality. At the age of seven Becca saw a TV show talking about the study of psychology and decided she must learn about it, though she had no idea what it was. The ladies' at the front were shocked when little Becca decided she wanted to read a psychology book. In her little southern town it wasn't common for anyone to be checking out the psychology books much less a second grader. But they found her one that she just gobbled up and soon she became obsessed with it, as well. An obsession, like reading, never went away. She also was entered into a school writing contest by her teacher and won first place. She began to write as an source for the pain and sadness she felt at losing her cousin and uncle within ten months of one another. The cousin who had been like a big sister to her growing up.
In fifth grade she discovered goth. Her moods had begun to plummet and she found a site online talking about depression and somehow ended up on a website about goth. It peaked her interest and her aunt took her to buy her first pair of combat boots, some gothic-band tees, and Tripps. She was the emcee at her talent show that year decked out head to toe in black and goth fashion. At the end of that school year her dad got a new church assignment and they moved several hours away to Georgia. The county they lived in was one where everyone had known everyone since diapers and they were very close knit. When Becca came in dressed goth and a whirlwind of activity it shocked the other kids which soon turned into confusion and then a-typical redneck violence. At first it was only name calling but within a couple of weeks turned into people beating her up every single day. She regularly came home with bruises and bloody noses that she took care of before her parents saw.
The crack and crumble of her faith came in seeing the people who went out and got drunk every night, did drugs, slept with other's husbands and wives, and the kids at school who bullied her act a certain way in the church then a different way in public. She decided that all of them were hypocrites and began seeking new religions. Around this time she also became a vegetarian and got involved with several grassroots organizations. Aside from fixing her stomach issues and her sickness it made her mind clearer to think.
When Becca chose Buddism as her religion her parents somehow found out. They proceeded to scream, call her horrible things, and tell her she was a sinner. To which she replied that she was no more or less a sinner than all the other hypocrites who attended the church, including her screaming father. Her parents threw her out, though her older cousin took her in. She still had to stay in the small town and be bullied and chastized by the other kids but at least she could be herself, even though she was mandated by the court to return home three weeks later. She spiraled downhill fast from the bullying and her stress, and began cutting herself at twelve. She also attempted suicide by ODing on Tylenol that Christmas. Her parents rushed her to the ER where she was evaluated, released under supervised care by her parents, and taken to a psychiatrist. Over the course of the next year she was diagnosed with several anxiety disorders and bipolar disorder. The cutting continued and two more suicide attempts happened by her twelfth birthday.
Becca spent most of the next year in and out of mental hospitals. She was homeschooled via programs within the asylums and managed to stay on track with her schooling. Eventually, she got better. It was like the bullying had never happened and her parents were able to see the happy, sweet girl they had missed all these years. Her family brought her back home a week before her thirteenth birthday and, though she continued to have nightmares and refused to sleep without a nightlight, did much better with her anxiety and moods. Her mother finished out Becca's school year with homeschooling.
That spring her father was sent before the Charge Conference and reassigned. He tried to convince the council otherwise, stating his daughter needed a stable place to stay for a while, but the arrangements were made anyway. Becca dealt with it relatively well. She and her mother went ahead to the parsonage prepared in Gasparilla Island, Florida to get her enrolled in school and find a therapist and psychiatrist for her. Becca set up her own room just the way she liked and her mother even helped her decorate it with murals and other things.
When her father and sister arrived in June things seemed...unsettled between she and Breanna. Breanna looked at her sister as though she were crazy and once came within half a sentence of calling her such. Becca was wounded. The sibling she had been so close to as kids, and whom had shared her love of unusual things was transforming. Breanna began hanging out with the popular kids from the middle school she'd be attending in the fall and changed her wardrobe and personality. Becca, however, stayed just as she had before. In love with the odd and macabre and dressing like everyday was cause for a funeral. She spent a lot of time bonding with her mom that summer and by the time school started she felt a little more at ease knowing she had an ally.
When she was sent to the local high school and, she threw herself into the academics and tried her best to ignore the gawks she got from the preppy crowd. It took the girls a while longer before they began tormenting Becca. Since she was so quite and shy, they mostly left her alone. But one afternoon there was a scene kid they'd begun picking on. When her fellow freshman began crying at their bullying, Becca intervened. And immediately she was public enemy #1 for standing up to the girls. After that the cycle started all over again. Bullying that was verbal and mental and soon spiraled into physical when no one was watching. The bullying continued and only increasingly became worse as the years went on. She ended up developing PTSD from previous bullying that caused night terrors and sleeplessness in this new school. The bullying became so bad that she began to cut again. Eventually this led to her taking herself off her meds and planning out another suicide attempt.
At fifteen she had a full mental breakdown. And she was determined this would be her last and final attempt to die. And she did die too after she stook a fatal dose of Nightshade and drank bleach. It was nothing short of a miracle that the EMTs were able to recessutate her after she was found by the groundskeeper at the graveyard where she went to die. She was in the ICU in a coma for three months before any sign that she would survive appeared. She finally opened her eyes one morning and subsequently had a panic attack from not knowing where she was. She was promptly restrained by medical staff as she begged to die.
The next morning a mental health professional showed up and began interviewing her. She told him all she wanted was to die. She had become a burden to her family and her life was not worth living anymore. He determined she needed to be sent to an asylum for a full evaluation whenever she recovered enough. Six months later she had been deemed well enough to leave. The afternoon of her release from the hospital she was taken via a cop car to Crowley's Asylum. She flat-out told them (writing it down on paper as her throat had suffered so much damage from the bleach that it wasn't useable until she'd had therapy for it) that if they let her go she would dissapear and kill herself. At sixteen she was admitted to Crowley's Asylum and underwent medication, therapy, and help for her throat to heal. And though she's been here another year she still refuses to speak to much of anyone staff-wise and keeps mostly to herself. She has tried to make friends but is always so fearful of being rejected that she is quiet and shy. Although one person she continually talks to is Micah, a shy, Schizophrenic boy who has become her best friend.
Appearance;
Becca is a pretty girl in her own way. She stands at roughly 5'4" and has a slender body. She doesn't have any muscle to be found on her though seems to still be pretty capable of defending herself. She has the natural curves of a fifteen year old girl but has no excess body weight. Her skin is a soft, fair shade that most would consider 'pale'. Her skin (face, neck, chest area) is flawless. She has blue eyes, that seem to be one of the first things people notice about her, which are a bright but translucent color. Her lips are full and pouty normally colored in reds, wines, or black. In general her body seems normal until one gets a good look at her wrists (provided she isn't wearing a ton of bracelets). If someone were to get close enough to her to see there are a number of healed scars on her lower arms/wrists and usually a few fresh ones. She's been a recovering SI for three years but has her slip ups, especially with the change of schools. Her hair is blackish-brown and kept that shade with occasional streaks of some Manic Panic color thrown in.
In terms of her clothes she is most certainly of the Goth persuasion. She doesn't dress like the crypt keeper type goths on TV and in movies, but favors dark colors with victorian accents. Her two favorite styles of said Goth fashion are victorian and steam punk. Her outfits vary by her moods and she can be seen in a little bit of everything; from victorian-style dresses and skirts to jeans and a band tee. Her shoes also depend on her outfit, but she has her favorite monster boots on most of the time. In terms of makeup she likes dark but with a hint of color. Bracelets are normally loaded up on her wrists to keep the scars and cuts from showing.
